Flaccid Penis

The flaccid penis is the male sexual and excretory organ when it is not erect. The flaccid penis undergoes a huge change when the male gets sexually aroused. Blood rushes into the flaccid penis and its length increases and so does its girth. This is called an erect penis. The flaccid penis is much smaller in length and girth than the erect penis. The average length of the flaccid penis is about 2.5 to 4.5 inches. There are surgical procedures to increase the length of the flaccid penis. In the surgery, the ligaments which hold the penis to the body are severed. This causes the penis to descend further downwards.

However, this process only increases the length of the flaccid penis by about an inch. The length of the erect penis does not increase at all. There is another process in which the fat cells from other parts of the body are transplanted to the penis and the length and the girth of both the flaccid penis as well as the erect penis increases. But this process too has a drawback. Since the size of the glans penis cannot be increased, it leaves a shaft that is bigger and thicker than the head. So it is often best to leave the penis as it is, unless you suffer from a medical condition known as ‘micro penis.’

In colder climates, the flaccid penis may appear shorter than it actually is. Even exhaustion causes it to appear smaller. But this is only a temporary reaction to the external and internal conditions. The flaccid penis soon returns to its normal size. There have been some myths which suggest that when the flaccid penis is stretched to its maximum, it measures equal to the penis when it is fully erect. This is not true. The measurements may vary greatly between persons. The only way to determine what the size of an erect penis will be is to measure the size of an erect penis with a measuring tape or a ruler.
